Highlights

History

The Glidden House occupies a 1910 French Gothic mansion on the Case Western Reserve University campus. The original woodwork and ceilings are preserved in the public spaces. The hotel has 58 guest rooms and serves a complimentary breakfast buffet with hot and cold options.

Rooms

Newly renovated guest rooms include a 42-inch flat-screen TV, a desk, and air conditioning. Bathrooms include a hair dryer and toiletries, and ironing facilities are available. Family rooms and a kid-friendly buffet accommodate guests traveling with children.

Dining & Bar

Palette Lounge serves crafted cocktails and small plates, plus a happy hour. Dining experiences use locally sourced ingredients. The hotel also has a coffee house on site, a snack bar, and a selection of wine and champagne.

Location

Within a five-minute walk, guests reach the Cleveland Botanical Garden, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The hotel sits on the Case Western Reserve University campus, and walking tours depart from the hotel. Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is 26 km away.

Business & Events

The hotel has indoor and outdoor meeting venues, a business centre with free printing services, and event spaces for corporate meetings. A concierge service recommends local dining and attractions, and the 24-hour front desk offers express check-in and check-out. The outdoor gazebo and gardens provide outdoor seating and host wedding ceremonies.

“The Glidden House truly captures a feeling of stepping back in time, a sentiment amplified by the 1940s lobby music and the exquisite historic details. It's a place where the quiet comfort of the rooms, even with silent air conditioning, balances perfectly with its convenient location near museums and lively dining spots. The staff's warmth and the genuinely appealing breakfast spread, enjoyed in a beautiful setting, make it clear why one might want to return for a longer stay.”
